The early 3009 models have a pivot to spindle distance of 213.3-213.5mm.8.93" is 226.8mm which is the effective length of the MKI and S2(early) models. It is NOT the pivot to spindle distance for ANY 3009 series arm.
The mounting distance, that which you are illustrating in your picture, is 213.5mm 8.40". Set the distance to the pivot at the base to 213.5 and adjust from there to dial in the alignment.
You really should have a protractor with null points at 60.3 and 110.9mm. With a drawing program on your PC and a laser printer you can make your own quite easily.
It appears the arm is mounted correctly except for the future you may want to rotate the base about 30 degrees counter-clockwise rather than have it "point" directly at the spindle.
Good luck.
