getting the 15sa up and running. Thanks for the encouragement.I suspect you're right on about the importance of system synergy with the 15sa and really any cart for that matter.
For example, there's a 12sa kicking around here that does sound lite'n'brite on the belt tables, but sounds better on the old Lenco idler. The inclination for the idler to emphasize LF probably balances out the HF tendency of the 12sa. Voices are actually quite captivating with this combo. Maybe the 15sa will even bring it up a notch.
I'm going for the cheaper Astatic replacement stylus to see if the cart shows promise before springing for the A/T original (if it can be found). I wonder if the 15xe eliptical stylus would fit the 15sa? Or is the 15sa only designed to work with the Shibata stylus?
And what a coincidence, I am running 12AX7's in the phono section. In the drawer are 2 different OS Mullards plus a few GrooveTube remakes. This just might be a good test for the Groovetubes.
Now if only I could leave the cover off the preamp during the cart trials.
