Hang on a minute.....

I need to think before I type. Ok, I’ve thought about it……

Evidently, you missed my main point, so I’ll take one more stab at it and then I’m done…..

According to your claim, the foundation of the 24 hour rule is supposedly research done for a magazine article 30 years ago. Because of that, you portray the concept as rock solid gospel and are shocked that anyone would question your assertions. As if to say, doesn’t everyone know about and obey this rule?

I can assure you; this rule is neither well known nor widely accepted. If it were....

Why haven’t we seen the subject in the audio press since then?

Why no follow up research, especially now that our technology has advanced 30 years?

Why should it be so hard to find the research? I don’t buy that pre-internet crap. Type “Civil War” in Google and see what happens.

Why are there no labels on records, even new reissues aimed at audiophiles, warning of the potential damage to be done by repeat plays?

Why no warnings on cartridges? Or on turntables for that matter?

I’ll tell you why….because the rule is BULLSHIT, plain and simple.

Vinyl is not some mystical material possessed of the power to magically “recover” from mechanically or thermally induced deformation. I made my points about that in the previous thread.

You are free to believe whatever you want; I don’t really give a rat’s ass. What I do give a rat’s ass about is your false portrayal of the rule as widely accepted gospel, which it is NOT, all the while refusing to substantiate your claim with evidence.

I’ve grown tired of this subject. I’m going to go play a record. Twice.

Have a nice day.
