Started restoration/upgrade work on the Thorens td165

Well Ive descided to not let the last ebay expereince get me down and Ive started work on the Thorens TD165. i got it all apart and im in the process fo giving it a cleaning and lube. I noticed one nice thing, my TD165 has the larger 10mm bearing not the smaller 7mm. I thought all the 165's with the plastic subplatter had 7mm bearings? The bearing looks to be in great shape no scratching or marks on the shaft and it spins nice and smooth and took a good few minutes to sink down into the bearing. I have a few question about the bearings. I saw a guy oon ebay selling a replacement/upgrade thrustplate for the 1mm bearing, is this a worthwhile upgrade for the $10 or so he charges? Another thing ive thought about is upgrading to a metal subplatter from a td150 with the ball tip spindle, they are easily found on ebay for a few bucks, is it worth it. My plan for this table is to get it bac to like new condition and sounding great, Its a fun project for my dad and i so I dont mind spending a little money to go the extra lenths to make it a really good table. Thanks for all the advice you guys have given me im really enjoying getting into vinyl and ive been enjoying alot of music I never listened to before because of inexpensive second hand lps!
