since ive gotten into vinyl in the last few months ive been keeping my eye out for some nice second hand deals. i recently picked up a nice Thorens TD165 for $50 and also found an Ariston Icon at a local second hand shop that looks to be in excellent shape. The guy is asking $275 for it including a new Audio Technica a95e cartirdge. It has its origional tonearm which looks alot like a Linn Basik lvx. Is this table significantly better than the Thorens i just picked up?? Is $275 a good price?? Im not really looking to buy another table right now but if I find a really good deal I may just snatch it up. Ive heard that the Ariston tables are like a poor mans LP12, and an LP12 is really the table I want but its out of my price range. Any info or opinions on this table would be great.
