Please help a vinyl newbie

Ok so many of may know that i am new to vinyl. I just received a bunch of LPs and a vintage Fisher tt from my dad and have since been hooked on vinyl. But the Fisher is not up to the quality of the rest of my system. So I would like tobuy my first "real" TT. Now I have been given a bunch of ideas on which tables to buy. Everything from a brand new Pro-ject or Music Hall table to a higher end used VPI or Rega to a vintage Thorens have been reccomended. So I have been doing some research and it seems all three options have thier pluses and minuses. I kind of like the warm vintage vinyl sound compared to the fast, detailed and thin sound. So I am thinking that Rega may not be for me even though its supposedly the perfect match for my system. So I have pretty much narrowed my choices to either a brand new Pro-ject Xpression mk2 or a used vintage Thorens td-160. Ive found a nice Thorens on ebay that has been fully restored and upgraded thats within my price range, check the link. My question is, will this vintage Thoren compare well to the new entry level tables like the Pro-ject Xpression or Music Hal mmf-5?? Ive heard the MMF-5 and Xpression and prefered the Xpression, but thier is no way to audition the Thorens. Any comments or opinins??
thanks
