I wondered about the tubes in the AAV1 but they've only got about 350 hours on them. Can 12ax7 gain tubes (Mullards) start to fail in a very subtle way?I'll try the phono preamp switch tomorrow and report back. I didn't consider that before because the Plinius 9200 only has a 47k load setting and I think that will make the system sound a little thin anyway compared to the AAV1 (screwing up the comparison).
