This evening I completed construction of a Bottlehead Seduction phono pre-amp. Total assembly time for me was about 14 hours. I worked very slowly and very meticulously, double and triple checking every step before proceeding to the next. I had one minor glitch, a component installed backwards, that I discovered and corrected while taking the final readings.I hooked the Seduction into my system, put a disc on the platter, dropped the needle and, presto... there was Mingus, sounding better than ever. Wow.
Before I bought the kit I had zero experience soldering. The kit has a great manual and the Bottlehead site has excellent tutorials. I didn't need to use the forum. As suggested, I did some practicing when I got the soldering station.
This baby sounds great! The DIY aspect of this pre-amp is nothing to fear.
