GST & PST are each 7%, so if you paid tax on the full value of the cart it would have been $249 x .07 = 17.43USD for each tax.
That you only paid $2.48 for each tax shows that the taxed value of the cart was $2.48/.07 = 35.40CAD or approx. 29.65USD. I guess you'd know that already because you have the package which shows the import value declared by Audiocubes.
My concern was that there may have been a 20-25% duty imposed on the item being imported from Japan, such that I'd end up paying $40USD for taxes & brokerage and $50USD for duty. Regardless, you got off easy - good deal.
