Same as myself,playing approx. 20% classical now,I've always liked classical but previously I had to be in the mood,now seeking out Violin Concertos.Original UK Decca SXL Widebands,UK HMV ASD Gold/Cream lable ,normally are the most sought after,but are expensive.Early Phillips/Mercury(stereo),again UK are worth a listen too,not generally as expensive as the DECCA/HMV.
All the above have been re-issued on cheaper variants of the original lables(as far as I'm aware),others with more knowledge than I should be able to advise.
