So I listen to a record, the tone arm gets to the end of the music and there is a pop as it finishes the side. I lift the arm and the system starts humming/buzzing. A mid-low frequency hum with a buzz on top of it. The noise gets louder when I touch the cartridge. I removed the ground wire and the buzz got very loud. Replaced ground wire hum/buzz returns to previous level. Hum/buzz goes away when another input on the pre-amp is selected. The table is a 2 month-old MMF-7 with a Maestro cartridge.Any ideas? I'm freaking out.
