I have yet to hear Bickert, but another great Canadian guitar guitar player (in the same genre I believe) is the late Lenny Breau.

Ted Greene, who passed away less than a month ago, was the master of chord melody guitar playing. My friend Jay Graydon (who studied with Ted) gave me a copy of his (only!) solo record "Solo guitar". Please take a listen to the sound clips below.
