Hi! This is Pete Riggle, manufacturer of the VTAF. It is worth pointing out that Zoltarcat was a very early adopter of the VTAF, and a very decent guy to work with. Since that time a set of precision shims has been added to the VTAF(tm) package. These are provided in thicknesses of .010", .020", .030", .040" and .050". Each .010" of shim placed under the rear of the cartridge has the same effect as lowering the VTA range 1/8". If the height from the record support surface to the plinth is a very low 3/4", the .030" shin will bring the arm into the correct adjustment range, allowing very succesful adaptation of the VTAF(tm) to a wide range of turntables. I will send a package of shims to Zoltarcat to see if that will be a help to him. I play my Rega Origin Live arm with a .020" shim under the rear of the cartridge in a high definition system, with two 6moons.com reviewers, one high performance loudspeaker manufacturer, and one blind master piano rebuilder as regular listeners. No one has ever suggested that the shim has any adverse effect. My advice . . . come on in, the water is fine. Your pal, Pete.
as regular listeners,
