I have an iMac and here is how I convert my LP's:Receiver-----(using iMic)----> iMac using Peak4 (converts to AIFF)
Peak4 is an excellent program, and the iMic is a fantastic device. I do not use MP3's anymore either...if I want to use a compressed format, I use AAC or MP4 (both are vastly superior to MP3's). I use the AIFF to burn directly to a CD-R.
