I'll probably upset a lot of LP12 owners,but nowadays they are considered off the pace or pound for pound etc you now can get better.
This will be disputed by Linn owners and of course dealers,don't get me wrong,they ar'nt considered to be poor,far from it,but for the same money you can get better.I won't advise as to whats considered an improvement,but suggest a little research on the subject of Turntables in your price range.
