Re: How would you describe your record collection?

I started collecting albums when I was in 6th grade and have every single one from the first (Bo Donaldson & the Heywoods) to the last purchased a few weeks ago (Richard & Linda Thompson - Pour Down Like Silver). The collection is in the 1600-1800 range with approx 90% being pop/rock from the 60's to current. I hadn't purchased vinyl of any sort for 6-8 years, but started up again mid to late 90's. Classical has always been an interest, but never bought anything of note until about three years ago. I couldn't tell a good performance from a bad (I don't think), so I just get anything that seems interesting, artists/conductors/orchestras/labels I'm familiar with or even stuff that is in pristine condition (or even just sealed yet) and give it a whirl. That has actually been the most fun I've had collecting music in 20 years. A whole new world has opened before me for discovery. I haven't explored jazz on LP yet-just Cd, but I imagine I'll get there too!
