a bunch of crap! Yeah, I know, lots of friction generated by a very small diamond with the equivalent force of about 35 pounds per square inch, blah, blah, blah. The passing of the stylus over any single point in a groove on a vinyl record is too brief to generate enough heat to do any real damage, at 33.3 or 45 rpm.
