You could try the easy method, turn the platter over!
I've found mine runs better on one side than the other.I really doubt your spindle is bent.
I think it's more likely the hole in the bushing that is in the center of the platter was not drilled perpendicular, or was pushed into the platter crooked. It's much easier to screw up that part of the assembly.
