The only time my motor made a little noise on startup was due to a

worn delrin pad in the main platter bearing. I have oiled the motor with sewing machine oil, which is about 5W. I have a few motors for spares, and they all make a very small noise. The noise gets lower with lubrication. The motor must also be firmly attached to the metal plate to avoid noise and to allow heat dissipation.
