Sorry about that bad experience. My misfortunes have all been small

compared to yours. We have always lived with a well and our own septic, but electric has been with a utility company. I have a generator in Alaska and Washington, and both are electric start. The Alaska generator is a 5000W Kohler, and it takes Paul Bunyan to use the pull start. We also have generator panels and outside plug ins. No automatic setups though.

Hope you get the funds eventually to buy one.
