RE: Tone Poet Series sounds like crap: Unpopular opinion?

I would guess that since these tapes are 50+ years old now that some degree of doctoring was necessary to hide flaws. The theory being it is better to have an overall even sound (even if subpar) than to have obvious flaws. There are always tradeoffs when putting out reissues of tapes from the 60's.
