Thanks Anthony. Perhaps I should have refined my comment and said cheapo unknown brand cells made in China. I seem to recall them lasting about two or three months only and I certainly was not measuring VTF every day! I also recall several complaints (10 years ago?) on this very forum about the Canrong gauge draining batteries. It doesn't as I currently use Duracells in the same gauge that I was using back then and they last a few years (given my infrequent use). BTW, over here (UK) the Duracells we have are made in Belgium. NB: I don't have any brief for Duracell over any other known brand ,they are just the easiest to find in the size for the gauge.
