You're right about the original Trampoline, it was a POS. The new metal one is much better.
In terms of BANG for the buck, that Cirkus bearing is probably the all time Linn winner. The amount of improvement it wrought was easily worth its MSRP, and picking one up used at a lower price is even more of a multiplier of the bang for buck.
The new Karousel bearing is yet another step up in performance, but because of price increases it doesn't have the same bang for dollar spent as the Cirkus.
