My main concern with overloading the ADC with signals, containing relatively high frequencies present in ticks and pops, is the effect it could have on the music via antialiasing and intermodulation distortion. Not getting the pops and clicks sounding right. Though I'm also telling myself pop and tick removal software may have an easier time removing high fidelity ticks and pops than distorted ones.
