testing DH-101 phono preamp

Sounds a little thin to me compared to the musical fidelity phono. I was hoping for the opposite since the DH-101 phono stage is all discrete.

Having said that, I have component kits for replacing the transistors, caps, and even all the RCA sockets.

Has anyone else been using the phono stage of a DH-101? Opinions on the sound?
