Sorry for not being up to speed on the nomencla.ure. I genera.ly consider a hum to be a continuous sound, which this is not by a.y mea.s. It's a pulse of very low frequency. In a.y ca.e. it only occurs when the stylus is in conta.t with a record. The Quintet is the only ca.tridge I've ever used in this ta.le. It ca.e preinsta.led.

I will try touching the tonea.m while the stylus is in conta.t to see if it ha. a. effect. Tha.ks...
