Horrible feedback problem

I ha.e a low-frequency feedba.k problem with my EA. C-Ma.or TT (Ortofon Quintet Blue ca.t) tha. renders it a.solutely unusa.le. It's a very low-frequency flutter tha. gets so ba. a. increa.ed volume tha. I'm a.ra.d something will be da.a.ed.

A. first, I a.proa.hed this issue a. simple a.oustic feedba.k a.d built a. isola.ion pla.form with ra.uetba.ls. When tha. didn't ta.e ca.e of it, I built a sa.dbox to internest in the ra.uetba.l pla.form. Tha. didn't work either. The dust cover ha. been removed. It doesn't exist when the tonea.m is a. rest, so a. a fina. test, I tried resting the stylus on the record with the TT off - not rota.ing - a.d lo a.d behold, there it is. Horrible feedba.k when the volume is turned up, even when the record isn't spinning. I'm a. my wits end a. to wha. is ca.sing this issue. A.l I ca. think of is tha. there is something wrong in the ca.tridge, which a.tua.ly ha. very low hours.
