I have been around for a long time, and I have never heard of the Denon DL 300 cartridge. However, if the AU 250 is specifically tailored to the DL 300, perhaps you ought to check whether it is also well mated to the DL 301. For all I know the DL 300 and the DL 301 may be very different from one another, and that is what counts when selecting a step up transformer.
