Tom, unless the OP lucked out that could be the worst reason for good sound. Fine line stylii are fantastically sensitive to correct SRA. But with his Rega there is no way that he can adjust this ( unless he added some kind of aftermarket device). Of course if the stylus to cartridge mounting surface is 14mm ( Rega's default distance) he will be in the ballpark even though not necessarily optimal.
