My comparison transformers are not very venturesome, Denon AU230 and the basic Cinemag, along with head amps and high gain phono stages. So I think that the Altecs will have a good chance of being preferred. I'm kind of vintage centric as well; I like old stuff. I think they will suit me fine (fingers crossed).
