I think John probably understands coil inductance better than I do, but for purposes of using a "current-driven" phono stage, the current output of a cartridge can be estimated by the simple equation: voltage output divided by internal resistance, or V/R. Since internal resistance is a function of both inductance of the coil, which will have a frequency dependent effect on impedance and resistance, where resistance is due to the length of wire used to make the coil and is a constant at all frequencies, I would guess that you needn't obsess over the inductance per se; because it is a tiny fraction of net resistance in cartridges with very low inductance. Now I will want to see what John says.
