One other setting which will influence L/R balance is azimuth. Many cartridges are built with poor alignment of the motor to the body. You cannot see this. It is necessary to ensure that the motor, not the body, is square to the record surface by rotating the cartridge slightly. I say that this isn't helpful to you Ivan as this adjustment is not available with Rega arms.

Someone has already suggested trying a different cartridge and at least that should help towards eliminating azimuth as the cause.
