RE: RF?

I'd never say never, but the capacitor to squelch arc-ing across a switch is traditionally placed directly across the switch, from the input side to the output side. If you take a look inside some of your gear, that's where you might see a dark orange colored, disk shaped ceramic capacitor connected. The arc-ing causes the pop; it's ameliorated by the capacitor. Where else would you put it?
