My regular TT is a VPI HW-19 Mk2 with Eminent Technology 2 tone arm I bought new back in the late 1980s, but that is not my oldest TT. In the same room I have a floor standing Columbia wind up phonograph my father bought in 1928 or early 1929. It still plays since I restored it although it needs a new needle and that has a major negative effect on the sound. It has a stamped sheet steel platter and a very heavy metal tone arm which is the beginning of a horn that curves down into the cabinet and exits through two doors which form the mouth of the horn.
If the above paragraph makes me sound as old as Moses dog I am, but not as old as one might think. My dad who was born back in the late 1800s was almost fifty-five years old when I was born.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
