I've cleaned about 100 records so far with my Disc Doctor 12 inch wet brush and VPI 16.5 vacuum tube. On the average, how many records can I expect to clean before the pads and strips need to be replaced?
I already have a couple of replacement pads and I've compared them to the ones I'm using and they look almost the same.
I have noticed with the vacuum tube that occasionally after one rotation, the vacuum tube momentarily sticks to the record.
Perhaps it's because it's dry after one turn or maybe from a static charge or possibly the pads and strips are worn?
Occasionally though the vacuum tube will momentarily stick even with fluid still on the record.
