I'll play around with it today and also adjust the vacuum tube so it's just resting slightly above the record surface when it's held down. Someone suggested once to use a record sleeve as a spacer to measure the distance.
Also I noticed after setting up the 16.5 after years of storage when I turned on the vacuum, I could smell something burning but that smell eventually went away after cleaning a few records. Perhaps years of storage without use is not good for the motor.
