I have rolled, unrolled, rolled again, and so on.... I am putting in the cover screws for a while as I have settled on a Raytheon (Baldwin) blackplate 12AU7. Other great performers were the Bugle Boy 12AU7A and an RCA "clear-top". In fact the GE blackplate was the weakest by far. Just fuzzy and dark sounding. With no sparkle. As good as GE 12AX7 tubes are I have read much about the -AU- not being desireable. One of these cold winter days I will roll some more. There are many more in the stash!
