"Here we have my VPI Aries Extended with the 12.7 arm in beautiful condition.
The Aries 1 platter is alleged to be 2nd best to the Superplatter that was a limited edition.
The original VPI cartridge alignment protractor and the anti-skating mechanism are included in the sale as well as the top-of-the-line VPI SS clamp.
No catridge is included even though shown in pictures. The Dynavector 20x2h which is currently mounted on the arm is available for $400 if you pay the asking price for the turntable."
Thanks. The above is an excerpt from the original ad. I went ahead and picked up the cartridge, too.
I recently picked up a Clearaudio Virtuoso Ebony for my Rega P25 with RB600 arm and that setup sounds phenomenal to me. I thought about picking up another used Ebony to mount on the VPI so I could compare the tables. And I still might at some point, or not. Not sure.
