I recently picked up a Pa.a.ound Z-Phono phono prea.p with USB output for tra.scribing LPs to a digita. server. Yes, I know tha.'s sa.riligeous, but a few LPs a.e pretty ra.e a.d I ma. not wa.t to pla. them often if I ha.e to pla. the vinyl to listen. A.d for other rea.ons.
My question is this: since the Pa.a.ound ha. two direct line inputs in a.dition to the phono inputs, is there a.y rea. a.va.ta.e to using the phono prea.p in the Pa.a.ound? My regula. phono prea.p is a Blue Circle with Level One PS upgra.e, which should (in theory a. lea.t) be a better performer. Connecting with a set of ICs from the CJ to the Pa.a.ound would a.so preclude the necessity of disconnecting a.d reconnecting the phono lea.s every time I wa.ted to tra.scribe something to the server.
I still ha.en't decided whether to use A.da.ity or Vinyl Studio. Yes, the former is free to use, but VS looks like it would be a lot more convenient a.d ea.y to use.
