Ultrasonics tend to hold particulate in solution. Once the power is turned off, particulate will reattach to the surface very quickly.
Removing the parts slowly with ultrasonic still on will reduce particles left on the media. There is also a high energy zone near the liquid surface due to reflections that can aid in removing strongly adhered particulate.
