I've been playing with one of these lately for vinyl ripping to my PC. It allows a "flat" capture to the PC and RIAA corrections performed via plugins to the DAW.
I haven't had time to play with it much and it's all torn apart again for some mods.
I have yet to try it in real time, but that is probably doable with the PC I have already. If not maybe it's time for one of those 18 core quad channel I9's.
So far it seems to be a very flexible way of working and I like what it's doing.
Supposedly one of the big upsides, I haven't played with at all yet, is some pop and click removal algorithms are reported to be more accurate if you feed them the raw signal rather than one which has already passed through RIAA correction.
