RE: technics SL 1200 power supply "upgrade" = snake oil?

What an ass.

Who knows what you did? Only you. You didn't explain yourself very clearly or supply any schematics.

There is still the question about how much ripple cancellation you actually accomplished at the 20VDC motor drive circuitry power rail.

The motor drive circuitry runs on 20VDC, as I understand it, and you claim to have injected 30VDC.

Either you measured the wrong thing and are trying to claim it's proof aftermarket DC supplies make no difference or you fed 30V directly to your drive circuitry and got extremely lucky it didn't blow up.

If you fed the DC, either through the rectifier or directly to the internal regulator input, the drive circuitry would at least be receiving the correct voltage. However, even if you were smart enough to bypass the rectifier, that does not negate the internal regulator impedance which is what Kevin at KAB claims is the more significant factor.

Or you fed the the 30VDC straight to the drive circuitry and the ripple measurements you made are indeed valid but it calls into question the whole point about you feeding 30VDC to a circuit that normally runs on 20VDC. Who would do that? If you did, was there any smoke or fire?

Did you measure motor rail ripple or not?

You are accusing me of misguided questions?
