Could it be the motor? I'm told that some of the various available motor styles this deck may have been equipped with are considered to be much much smoother than others. I understand the big Ashland single phase hysteresis synchronous motor runs very smoothly off ac from the grid. I guess the one to watch out for is the one with big square laminations lamination's, aka the "borg death cube", like I have on my L37. Supposedly it shakes the worst.
