I found NRBQ to be a bit of a problem in New England in the early 70's. They were the opening act for J Geils (may he rest in peace) and got booed off the stage by a crowd that included a lot of bikers and loaded hippy-types. J Geils was late and they played for over an hour- it allowed time for everyone's drugs to kick in and it was all the NRBQ anyone could stand. For me, that scar has never healed.
