Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

My last (hopefully) turntable.

Inmate Scott Thompson's personal deck, the second SL-1600 MKII I've purchased from him. Should arrive within a week. Deck has been recapped, cleaned and lubed, new Cueing belt, strobe disabler. The arm has been re-wired and 5 foot captive Cardas ICs with Neutrik plugs installed. Jim Howard's Applied Fidelity bearing installed. New dust cover included.

The SL-1600 MKII is basically a SL-1200 MKII (same motor, arm, etc.) with a few major differences. The 1600 has a suspended sub-chasis and can be operated manually or semi automatically or on full automatic. It retailed for $400 in 1981.
