1. Janis Ian "Breaking Silence" Dark subject matter but a remarkable achievement.
2. Hall and Oates "Voices" The cut "Every Time You Go Away" gives goosebumps, particularly the opening.
3. Steve Winwood "Back in the high Life" and "Roll With It" The ballads are stunning.
4. Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" the Stan Ricker 2-LP reissue.
5. Thelma Houston "I've Got the Music In Me" Sheffield Direct to Disc.
6. Rickie Lee jones S/T debut. The original MOFi is stunning but almost unobtainable and expensive. Luckily, the original WB pressing is almost as good.
