RE: REVIEW: Audio Technica AT-ART9 Phono Cartridge

The motor was given to me by Bill Carlin of Phoenix Engineering. It's an off-the-shelf BLDC motor with the electronic commutator removed and rewired for three-phase synchronous AC operation. If you're interested in constructing a three-phase turntable motor system, Bill Carlin has posted all the required information on the diyAudio forum at the link below. I believe the motor costs only about $56. In fact, I think you can make a complete three-phase system for less then $300. Check it out at the link below:
