I switched motors. I replaced the original Sota motor with a three-phase synchronous motor. The component with the Eagle faceplate is actually a three-phase generator called the "Condor." It never made it into production so "Condor" faceplates were never ordered. However, the three-phase motor with two belts has raised the performance of the Sota Millennia to a new level. It seems to reproduce less groove noise than before, yet clarity and detail remain as exquisite as ever. Platter speed can now be controlled by the RoadRunner tachometer to remain at a constant rpm.
