I own the ART7, which is the lower-output version of the ART9. There is no "fiddly" nature with my ART7. Once its set up, you never have to touch it again. At least mine is very much a "set it and forget it" phono cartridge. It's also one of the best sounding phono cartridges I've had the pleasure of owning. I've owned some more expensive cartridges like the original Ortofon MC-2000 and the Dynavector XV-1, and I like the ART7 as well or better than any other phono cartridge I've owned.
