I've seen you recommend the Fluance before and I've read reviews online. Also researched U-Turn and Project tables. All of this is internet research, no live auditions.
My daughter lives in Austin and I live in upstate NY. Everytime she visits she takes a couple armloads of my records. If she is going to end up with most of my vinyl--which I encourage-- I want her to have a table that's pretty good at soundstage, rhythm, and instrument separation.
I directed her to the Rega 2 for probably three reasons. That table is probably the lowest priced table capable of those qualities. That opinion derives from research and listening to the P3. (I know, I know.) Also, it has a lifetime guarantee and rega equipment does tend to last. Third, there's a retailer in Austin that sells the P2 for $645 and I would encourage her to form a relationship with a brick and mortar shop at this stage in her vinyl life. At least for a turntable.
